Moving to Bilbao

Hello,
there is a chance of moving to Bilbao for my PHD thesis. The thing is that i will move in with my boyfriend, who is a hotel employee, restaurant manager at a 5-star hotel in Greece. He doesn't speak Spanish but he is fluent in English. Do you know anything about hotel/restaurant jobs in Bilbao or generally the Basque country? Is he going to find a job at a hotel? Is it going to be a big problem the fact that he doesn't speak Spanish at all?
