If you hold a Tarjeta de Residencia for Spain and you are unfortunate enough to lose it - it cannot be replaced with a new card. This despite there being an application form on the MTAS website!

The only replacement is the new Certificado de Registro for which you will need Application form (available from
www. http://extranjeros.mtas.es/ ) NIE, Padron and Passport.

Also you will need to pre-pay 6.70 eu. In a local bank using the Form 790 which the very helpful policeman in Elche will willingly give you. The 790 is not available online.

For those in the Torrevieja area also note that the Comisaria de Policia in Campo de Mirra Alicante is refusing to issue the new Certificados to Torrevieja area residents and you have to go to Comisaria de Policia Elche:
