Lost NIE Certificates

I hope someone can help. We had our NIEs issued in Valencia in January 2006. We left the originals with a friend in Spain for "safe keeping". She now can't find them. Is there any way to get the documents re-issued. We know what the numbers are.

Dont worry - should not be a big problem - we had a client in a similar situation. Suggest you return to the office where the NIEs where issued armed with Passports, photos, and if you have Padrons and Residence cards or the new certificate - I would also take the EX14 application form again just in case - plus of course photocopies of everything!! You should be able to get them reisssued and this time guard them yourselves!

Thank you. I thought that might be the solution. We don't live in Spain yet but we'll be over next week. We just have to remember where the office was (the Estate Agent took us).
