Hello everyone,

I would love to work in Spain as a qualified English teacher. Although I have read that it is an uphill battle especially for US citizens, my heart truly is in Spain.  I want to make the leap but I have 2 misdemeanors on my record in the US, from when I was in university. Are my dreams crushed? I fear that this will haunt me forever.

Any help you all can lend will be much appreciated.

Hola,

I cut and pasted this from a document which lists what you need for Visas - I found on http://www.internationalliving.com

A certificate of good conduct, issued by the police department of any
places where you have spent six months or more during the past five
years, plus two photocopies

So you might have a chance given you say the misdemeanors were some time ago.

Good luck.
