i’m a non-eu citizen residing is uk for 5 years.my wife is spanish,now she got a job in spain ...i’m ready to go and live there,my question is ! i have heard that we can apply for the N.i.E in the spanish consulate before getting to spain ,as my wife is already there. what are the benefit of applying for the NIE befor getting there ? will it help me or decrease my waiting time to apply for the spanish citizenship while i’m in spain ?and if i apply for the NIE while i’m in london ...what else i need to do when i will be in spain ? do i just need to apply for the resident card ? by the way is the resident card of spain is it still a card or is a certificate now ? what are the benefit for me in spain as a spouse of spaniard ,m’i going to be treated as every non-eu married to an eu citizen or differently becoz my wife is spanish ? thanks for any comments ,welcome
