I’m going for half a month and need to travel between Zaragoza, Madrid, Barcelona and Las Palmas. What’s the best way to do that? What’s the most in expensive way?

I’m applying for my international license so that I may drive, but I don’t think I can foot a car rental bill for that length of time.

What are the best train and ferry passes to get for someone like me?

Any suggestions?

For Las Palmas, you’ll want to fly.  Check out http://www.vuelosbaratos.es/ for cheap flights.  For the rest, the quickest and most pleasant way to travel is by train.  Look at http://www.renfe.es/.  You ‘ll find cheap buses around, too, but the train will be nicer.  Car hire is cheap in Spain and as you’re going for “half a month” you should be able to get a small vehicle for about ?200/?300/$400.  However, driving and parking in the cities is never a joyous experience.

I would suggest flying between Barcelona and Madrid as well, it’s a very long train ride also flying can be cheaper with Vueling for example.

The new AVE high speed line should be ready between Madrid and BCN very soon too though, which would be a better option than flying IMO.
