Working in Spain, getting paid through my Canadian corporation?

Hi All,

I will work for a company in Spain on a 1-year project. They’re ready to employ me as their permanent employee (with a 1-year work visa), which would subject me to the taxation rules of Spain and the double-taxation treaty between Canada and Spain. Here in Canada my current employer pays my salary to my corporation rather than to me directly, which enables me to save money through various expense deductions. Can I somehow pull off the same thing in Spain? Is it possible for my Spanish employer to pay my corporation instead of me? If so, how would that affect my visa status in Spain? Has anyone from a non-EU country had similar experiences?

Thanks,
risjak
