Hi,
At the moment my plan is for me and a mate to drive a ‘sprinter’ type van to Spain from the ferry at Bilbao to the Torrevieja area in May/June. Have you driven this route and would you give me an idea of the journey. I don’t mind admitting that I don’t like hieghts, etc. so the thought of sheer drops won’t make the journey seem any better but I need to know. Is the road good, are there places to stop, etc, is the road full of tolls? Any help on the above and anything else I should do/not do would help.
Cheers AL

The Roads from Bilbao and Santander of very good, mostly motorway, the only tolls I remember ( i havent driven it for about two years) was the ring road around Madrid,

Use the Via michelin routefinder service as this will give you an excellent service, in fact I have just checked the route and it is Motorway virtually all the way, and the tolls are stated as 21?.
