I know this has probably been asked before but bureaucracy being what it is in Spain, I thought I would ask again. Is getting an NIE possible for Americans already in Spain, and, alas, have overstayed their tourist visa? If so what is the process and what are the necessary documents? Tks.

Next time you enter the country (ie. get stamped), take yourself to the Police station to score your NIE.
