In January I made the mistake of using Telefonica in english.com to order my telephone line,
I know for a fact the the infastructure is in my street,
After several emails, and them taking 110? from my account, here we are 8th may and still no telephone line.
I have now emailed again asking for a full refund.

We will wait and see.

The name of the company is Telephonica in English.com.
I have since found out that they are nothing to do with the real Telephonica.

There website allows you to order your telephone line from telephonica, but they charge you ?110.00 for the privelege.

Never heard of this company. You can ask your phone line at any official distributor of telefonica or movistar.

I recomend also in general to signup only with oficial dealers or directly with the company (normally they have also own offices for public in cities). As a final tip, anyone who needs something from telefonica or movistar, if you call 1004 (telefonica) or 1486 (movistar), ask them for someone who speaks english, they have a team of english people staff.

You can always PM me if you need direct help or installation of phone line, dsl, etc.

Regards

Just to update you all,

On the 12th may 2008, I received an email from them stating that they have cancelled my application and would be giving me a full refund within 10 Days.

It’s now the 27th and still no sign of the money.

Hi,
Telefonicainenglish.com are indeed third party sales agents for telefonica. They promise a lot and then do virtually nothing. I had dealings with them between Nov2006 and Feb2007. Eventually when I spoke to Telefonica directly they stated that they had not received any order from me via telefonicainenglish. I cancelled the order with telefonicainenglish and they immediately refunded my 110 Euros. Get back onto them and demand immediate repayment. Threaten them with solicitors. They have a dreadful reputation for nonfulfillment of contracts with English customers.
Place your order directly with Telefonica using a mobile. Their number is 1004. Wait fo the second break in the recorded message, then say clearly ‘English’
They will then transfer you to an English speaking sales agent. Usually best to do this after 2pm. When we did this our phone line was installed within three days although they do say that it may take up to 20 days. If you want or need ADSL ensure that the operator checks that ADSL is available at the location where the phone line is to be installed. We are out in the sticks and have to make do with rural ADSL which is a very slow version of ADSL (512Kbps) and yet costs the same as urban areas where the 3Mbps service is available.
Hope this helps.
Dont let telefonicainenglish push you around.
Good Luck

Jurdy, Hi,

Regret no bills or accounts or written correspondence. All our communication was over the phone or, once the real Telefonica had installed our line, by email.

The website address is http://www.telefonicainenglish.com

I dont think its a scam; I believe that they do try to offer a service but they just dont try hard enough…

They claim on their website to have helped thousands of Brits get phones and lines installed, but I have never seen anyhting to indicate such success on this or any other expat forum…

Sorry cant help further…

I also gave Telefonica in English 110 euro for a telephone line and 3 months later when they failed to do anything asked for a refund and Im still waiting although the refund was promised months ago.  Do not deal with this company, go direct to Telefonica
