Work contracts and the law

I know there are 3/6/9 month contracts but how many of these short contracts can an employer legally give you before having to commit to a permanent contract ?

I've heard you can renew twice and third time has to be fijo. Not 100% sure though so maybe some else could give more definite answer.

Thanks, I was told yesterday by an abogado that you can only have 2 short contracts ( renew once ) the third contract has to be permanent.

there a way around that , give you two 6 months contracts and not reemploy you for 6 monts again
