I’m planning to relocate to Spain in 2009 and am currenly looking at the various employment options available, one of which is to continue working for my UK company remotely from Spain. What I need to understand is the income tax implications if I do so. From my understanding I can only be taxed at source, i.e. in the UK, does anyone know any different?

I’m still planning to keep my house in the UK and thus UK residency for the first couple of years at least if that makes any difference. I work in IT and if I stay with my present employer will be maintaining systems in the UK.

Any info would be most appreciated.

Given you want to be here (Spain) but keep UK ties I suggest you research the UK Government tax site which will explain your situation:
