hello!
I wonder if there’s anyone out there that can help me
I’ve been living in Spain (as a Spanish resident) and working for a Spanish company since 2005.
Last year in 2007, I made my first tax “declaraci?n” to the Hacienda (for earnings in 2006).
I assumed work took care of this for declaring Spanish taxes, as tax is deducted from my salary every month, ...but apparently not…
Last week, I’ve just filed my 2007 tax return….
And now I’ve just learned from your website that you have to declare your global earnings.
I rent out my flat in the UK and have a few stocks and shares (where i get dividend payments) , plus a bank account…and file a regular tax return on this every year in the UK as a non-resident….
However, I am looking to buy a property in Spain and am worried the taxman will catch up with me…especially as I assumed
i’ve been correctly paying tax in Spain…
Plus I need to sell some shares in the UK to afford this…...am I taxed in Spain on selling these?
Plus is there anyway I can do my 2005 return, and amend the returns for 2006 and 2007 to include global earnings? or will i face a massive fine, or just be deported 😉
I guess it’s a case of knowing where to file and how!!!!
HELP!!!
