My wife just might be offered a job in Barcelona in Human Resources... Kind of an IT-ish analyst, specialist position. This kind of job in the States (Boston) pays about 60000USD-75000USD. We're wondering what we should say for our salary requirement. She'll be supporting me (husband) and our 1 year old boy, and we'll need a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment in the city. Any thoughts on what we might expect, or what we should request, would be greatly appreciated. We just really can't afford to make a mistake here and ask for too little, and then find out too late!

well, I am getting really surprised about a lot of things are said here.
About your ask post, I can say you that spannish cost livings are high (because of the high prices of flatrents and properties,- my english is not perfect-) and the wages are quite low.So I almost don?t know any family who lives with only one wage.If you hope your wife can earn the enough for your family (one baby) with only one wage , you will live very basic (it is possible but forget to buy the playstation for your child and things like this and forget to rent a flat in Barcelona center, you will need to rent a flat about 40km abroad.I guess your wife job can be paid around 25.000 euros year if she is qualified with experience.So she will receive around 1500 euros month ( a flat rent in Barcelona center costs around 1200 euros month!).
