I've read that the blocks in L'Eixample were originally supposed to have little parks in the middle of them (in the courtyard). Did this actually happen? ...or are they car parks, or something? (seems this area doesn't have a lot of parks, so have to take this into account when moving witha youngster).
"The Born" seems like a nice place, based on what I've read here and other places. However, I'm not sure what actual district this is. I'm looking for flats on Idealista.com (for example) and not sure where to look. What other names should I look for?
Thanks!
P.S. sorry if I'm posting questions like mad! ...It's just that this is by far the best forum for our impending move, ...by far.

From what I've seen, most of the blocks in Eixample do have parks or some sort of rec space in the middle of them. That being said, I think there are better areas for familys/kids. Sant Gervasi/North Gracia is probably perfect. I have a friend who has a place up there with two boys. Lots of parks.
The Born is the next district to the east of Barrio Gotico. It's not a great place for kids - awesome for young people and couples though. Great restaurants and shops.
Have you tried looking at loquo.com? It's the first place I'd go.
