Can anyone help me? I had a telefonica landline earlier in the year and then changed to Orange (who took over the landline). I have an Orange livebox. My question is this: What number do I dial to listen to voice messages that people leave for me while I’m out. For the life of me, I can’t figure it out ... and I can’t get through to Orange to ask.

Cheers,

Paul

I’m unsure with regards to your problem but we’ve had an issue ourselves with Orange. When switching from Telefonica, our line went dead! Basically we received a call from Telefonica asking if we were switching over to Orange and if they could close our acc with them. Having signed the Orange contract - we said yes. But then on trying to make a call a day or two later, our line is dead :S Internet still works though.

Did you have any similar problems when switching over?

Yes, we had a similar problem back in November/December. Telefonica called to confirm that we were switching to Orange. They don’t like you to switch and are extremely childish and unprofessional about it. They still feel that they have the right to monopolize the market, and, in a way, they still do. During the first month, we lost our connection several times and I had to call Telefonica with my mobile. They always claimed it was an ‘infrastructure’ problem - the favourite excuse of Spanish companies when things go wrong. Our internet connection arrived in January - 2 months after we first ordered it from Orange. We were told that we’d have to wait 2 weeks for our internet connection. It took 2 months. Orange is also to blame. They haven’t even sent us a contract yet. They keep calling us to ask if we’ve received a contract yet, and when we say no, they say that one will be put in the post right away, but it never arrives. To be honest, although I love Spain and have been living here on and off for close to 25 years, many Spanish companies are incompetent, inefficient and childish. Call Orange (1414) and tell them your problem. I still can’t figure out how to check my telephone messages.

Regards,

Paul
