Is TEFL Barcelona a legitimate TEFL course??

I have read some of the postings about TEFL certification courses, and I noticed that some of them could be scams. I was wondering if TEFL Barcelona is a good course, and if it has all of the necessary credentials in order to get TEFL certified. I studied and lived in Barcelona before, so I am familiar with the landscape, and I know that is where I want to go. I have friends in Barna that will help me out as well, but I am not sure if that course is valid or not. Its website is www.teflbarcelona.net. Any comments or recommendations are welcome.

There are a number of other good legit TEFL courses in Barcelona, Europe TEFL www.europetefl.com is on the beach in Vila Olimpica, as well as Oxford TEFL on Girona and the TEFL International course on Rocafort called TEFLinBCN. International House on Trafalgar runs a CELTA and DELTA course monthly. I think the SIT TESOL course ended and the Windsor TEFL went out of business. You'll get the right training and teaching practice with any of these, and each course should help you with finding work following the course, pretty standard in Barcelona. You'll probably see a bunch of other websites selling courses in Barcelona, but they are agents and don't actually run the course themselves. Check and see who is behind the website you book through.

I did the Trinity CertTESOL course in 2010 at OxfordTEFL (in Barcelona) and I am very happy to have done so. Everyone is super friendly and supportive and all the work I had to do before moving there was very swift due to the help I got from them. The course is very complete and it's probably one of the best decisions I've made in my life! They helped me find a job less than a month after I was done with the course (and I'm a non-EU memeber) and I'm still here in BCN! I'd recommend the course to anyone, experienced in TEFL or not.

* I even met my boyfriend (who's a keeper!) through a friend from the course! hehehe =)

Hi Rekzie and deagle
Thanks for the positive review, Rekzie! Hope things are still working out for you in beautiful Barcelona.

deagle, sorry to read that you were unhappy with the course. Oxford TEFL is among the most highly-regarded teacher training institutions in Europe and we have been running Trinity College CertTESOL courses since 1998, and around 350 people graduate from our four centres every year, having had a very positive experience.
You can read more testimonials like Rekzie's on our website at http://www.oxfordtefl.com/Trinity-Cert-TESOL-Testimonials.html and find some of their reviews on http://teflcoursereview.com.
