Hi All

My partner and I are looking to move to Spain over the next few years. She wants the sun and I’m looking to wind down and ski some more, maybe play some golf. We quite like the idea of running a guest house, perhaps organising skiing trips to the Sierra Nevada. So we are planning early. We’d quite like to be near the coast, we think south of Granada, but not in the middle of nowhere.

We’ll be in Marbella over Xmas and are going to use this time to look around. Anyone got any suggestions of where to look? I guess we are looking for bars, restaurants in close proximity, near coast, relatively good access to skiing and the odd golf course thrown in. Our ideal property would be, detached, bit of land, perhaps some outbuildings which could be converted.

All help gratefully received

What sort of travelling time would you think is ok for you from sierra nevada???

There are lots of beatiful places on the Coast but all depenedant upon your ideal travelling time to and from the ski resort.

Let me know and i’ll see what suggestions i can come up with.

Regards

Hi, I would guess that about an hours drive is ok for either getting the the slopes or the coast.  We thought we should concentrate a search south west of Granada, but really, we have a plan of when , but right now we are in the dark about where!!

cheers

Have you seen http://www.orgiva.org yet? Looks like there’s sun (see solar panel sales) and snow (see nieve)...

Thanks for that. Thnk Orgiva is a little too far from the main road. Took me about 20 - 25 minutes to get there from the E902. Which is adding a little too much to the journey. WE are about to go look at Loja,  Huetor Tajar and Archidona which are all to the west of Granada.

By the way, we had a couple of days skiing over Xmas. Brilliant.

Also, can anyone confirm when the new road to Motril from Malaga is going to be completed?
