well this channel is only teasting with an id Number on 28.2 sky “Diaspora TV” what a name for it . it will be on the fta EPG soon FTA.

Details of the new service released so far indicate that the channel will be a hybrid of RT? One and RT? Two with some additional programming from TG4.

The introduction of the Diaspora channel comes on the back of last year?s Broadcasting (Amendment) Act. Enacted in April 2007, the Act gave national public service broadcasters, RT? and TG4, digital terrestrial television obligations. It also required RT? to set up a digital television channel for Irish citizens living abroad.

RT? IS to make cuts of over ?50 million to its budget next year to avoid a deficit, its director general told a D?il committee yesterday.

The cuts, which total 10 per cent of its operating costs, will include shelving plans to bring Diaspora TV to the UK next year.
