I’m an Australian currently studying to get Cert II and Cert III in Security Operations, and I’m just wondering what the requirements are to get the same in Spain.

My trainer goes to annual meetings in the USA where he meets with others like him all over the world to speak to each other and see if the training standards are the same, and for the most part he says that they are up to scratch with the rest of the world.

I’d one day like to go over to Spain and study Spanish in the Don Quijote language school in Barcelona, but due to the cost I’d have to get a job while I was over there, and figured this might be a good option.

So if anyone could possibly provide me with some more information on the subject, that would be great. I’ve had a hard time finding things, because I guess I’d have to ask the question in Spanish to find any relevant results. There doesn’t seem to be many in English.

You must be a permanent resident, speak fluent Spanish, produce a certicate stating you have no criminal records and pass an exam. You’d contact the Spanish Embassy and find out if your Cert II and III are valid in Spain, in which case you’ll need a certified tranlsation.

Apart from that ... people working for private security companies in Spain get a poor salary ... In Alicante they gain between 750 and 800 euros/month, and usually do extra hours (normally up to 200-250 hours/month instead of the regular 160) to get enough money to live. If you want to live in Barcelona ... you’ll need a much higher salary ... but, most of all, you’ll need to speak Catalan.

Her background is very dubious and I think it is wrong to offer a potentially ‘life or death’ skills course to anyone without the proper qualifications/training.
(Friends have come across this course - and dismissed it once they found out no one in the business had heard of her).
