Hola

Looking for advice, we currently have a mortgage with UCI/Santander, however, the interest rates have gone up, not down so we are considering looking for another lender.

We knew the payments were due to go up in January, however, the price has gone up ?180 more per month than it should have done, I can’t get any answers from them, I have been calling for 2 weeks! I have to say I am not impressed with their service

I have just called and told them I want a new one to prompt someone to call me - that is terrible that I have do this!

Thanks for any help

Simone

Hola

Thanks for your replies, I really don’t fancy changing mortgages but what are we supposed to do, I have now been calling for exactly 3 weeks, they won’t put me through to anyone and keep telling me they will call back - they never have.

I want answers such as:
Why has out mortgage gone up when the interest rate is so low?
Are they not passing on the interest rate cuts to us who have mortgages?
When is our yearly review due?
Can we go back to interest only for a further year?

Simple questions really but they can’t just keep ignoring me, last rerost for me will be to pull all my funds from the bank account connected to the mortgage and not pay them, that may prompt a call, they will want their money!!!!

Ahhhhhh, and the saga continues LOL

I will keep you posted for sure

Hola

I can’t believe it, I got through! Someone must have been watching us post and sent me some good luck for a change!

The interest rate went up to 6.34% in December and the UCI/Santander add an extra 0.85% to this to calculate our mortgage rate, they review us every 6 months which will be June of this year.

The lady who we spoke with has sent a form for us to be reviewed so we can go back to interest only for a further year, help our pockets and give our clients more time to cough up!

We had to answer a series of questions on the phone and she filled in a form, now we wait for up to 1 month for a reply by mail.

This is the reason we are struggling, our clients have just not been paying us, spinning us yarn after yarn of lies and complete b0110ck5!

Thanks for listening to me whinge on!

Laters 😊

Fruity just read this:

Emilio Botin, president of Banco Santander has announced that the bank is set to declare record profits for 2008. He said that the figures will be the best in the banking world, although he failed to mention his earlier prediction of ?10 billion profit. The bank is also studying the possibility of taking legal action against the American financier, Bernard Madoff, who it holds responsible for ?2.3 billion losses.

Hola Gary

Speak to me! 😉

We has considered moving the mortgage but were damned if we were going to shell out ?4000 or something stupid to move it, we would rather stay where we are

If there are deals on the table currently that allow that move to take place to reduce payments without fees then I am listening 😊
