We have a few things at our home in Ontinyent, including 2 bicycles that we want to bring back to the uk - we have a carrier for normal car, but cannot find ANYONE that offers one way car hire from either Alicante or Valencia. It seems that unless we want a van (which is unnecessary and expensive) there is no way to bring them back ourselves. Does anyone know of a company (or individual) who has a vehicle that we could hire from MArch 17th for approximately 4 days??? we are desperate to have the bikes here!

There are a couple of small removals firms who post and advertise here, I am sure they could work something out for you as they regularly go to and from the UK - hope you find a way to do it,

i tried looking when i moved over a couple of years ago, I thought companies such as hertz ad avis etc would have done this but the reason that i was given was because of the LHD / RHD between the uk and the rest of europe.  I searched far and wide but didn?t find anything.  I know this doesn?t help but i hope you have more luck in fing something than i did.  The nearest i could find was van hire for 1 way between Salisbury and Algorfa (Nr Torrevieja).

I don’t think any commercial company will do this, as they would have to cover the cost of returning the LHD, Spanish-reg car to Spain.  Have you investigated the possibility of sharing with someone in the UK who wants to go the other way?  You could rent for a week and have 3 1/2 days each, splitting the cost.  Remember to get all drivers registered and insured, though.  Another possibility is to find someone in Spain who wants their car taken to UK while they fly.
