Anyone using Tele2 or Comunitel in Spain/Tenerife?

Hiya,

I am living in Tenerife and recently applied for ADSL with Tele2 as they are the cheapest and my mate had no problems when he was with them until halfway through last year when he went back to England.

Now my problem is, the line has been activated (supposedly - we have had several automated phone calls to say it is activated), but the router has not arrived yet and with the Spanish postal system it could take weeks. So I tried setting up my ZyXEL 660R-61C router with the same settings that my mate used when he was on Tele2
PPPoA
VC
VPI: 0
VCI: 33

But when I do the test settings it fails on the second test as below
Test ADSL synchronization PASS
Test ADSL(ATM OAM) loopback test FAIL
Test PPP/PPPoE server connection FAIL
Ping default gateway FAIL

Is anyone on Tele2 / Comunitel ADSL with a router and can tell me the correct settings? Or if you are with Tele2 and don't really understand what I mean please reply as I can talk you through the steps to find out the info.

I can?t seem to find a phone number for their ADSL customer support either, does anyone have any ideas, even if they only speak Spanish it is not a problem

Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve,

My guess is that their system is setup to only acknowledge known MAC addresses, then again you're getting PPP errors suggesting a login problem...

I found the following contact info for them for Southern Europe (their .es site has no contact page!!! Unbelievable...)

Hiya,

Just in case anyone is interested, Tele2 details for spain are
VCI: 35
VPI: 8
PPPoA
VC

DNS: 130.244.127.161
& 130.244.127.169

and the username and password ARE case sensitive
and there are loads of different phone numbers to call, one of which has no record of my account, even though they have sent me a letter.

Cheers,
Steve

Haha, no surprise!

Good of you to leave the info! Good luck with that.
