My ten-minutes on the phone to Telefonica rewarded me with a reasonable discount: ?70 a month down to ?57.69 for the same service. I get the lot from Telefonica: landline / calls to mobile / preferential international and 24/7 broadband. I am happy enough.
I called 1004 followed by 1 (for English language). Explained my situation, backed by mournful violins. Natalie explained I was already getting a good deal. However, she passed me through to ‘promotions’; there was a short conversation, and the deal was struck. Right! Next question? What do I spend my newly acquired ?12.31 on? Dilemmas! Dilemmas!

Cheers! I think they might have anticipated their own potential sloppiness   ...  I have ref’ number to bring them up to speed if they don’t deliver. I think the trick is not to allow things to slide. Keep at it. It is the same with banking car / home insurance: the entire industry depends on the majority not questioning their costs.  ;o)

The Telefonica addons are the same as any other company, 6 MB broadband 4? extra, Broadband maintenance 5? extra, get them taken back to basic and it will be cheaper.
