I have a French Euro account with cheque book, are they accepted in Spain ie can I pay rental for accomadation with this. Purchasing a car etc.

Your reply is certainly faster than cashing a cheque then I was hoping to avoid opening another Bank account.

If you are planning to live here with elec, water contracts etc you must have a Spanish bank account. Suggest you use plastic - quicker than cheques.
