Hi,

I have just moved to Spain and am looking at getting the internet and television installed.

So far, my internet options have been narrowed down to Iberbanda Wimax, or an adsl line (Such as Telefonica).  I dont want to pay 40-50euros a month for a relatively poor 3G connection nor be in an 18month contract so that was not an option for me.

What do you guys think is the best option for internet now (June 2009).  I want something reliable, and with Skyp-able speeds.

As for television, what are my options????  So far, a local firm wants to charge around 400euros to get “Free-view” english channels installed!  Or, over 500 for an actual Sky box (Freeview still) where I can pay the sky subscription monthly if I want more channels.

My thoughts were, to get a Eurovox or something similar (the “All free” channels box in the UK) and take that to Spain with me for ALL the channels???  Would that work??

Thanks

Darren

Hi Jurdy,

Thanks for the reply, its been very helpful.

Im a little confused though as to what you mean by “a technomate are dreambox” ?  I take it that these are two different boxes?  I would like to get a HD version so I have seen a Technomate one, and also a dreambox 800HD - both PVRs.

I am assuming that the TV/SAT socket that are pre-installed in the house wont be good enough for reception so am I right in thinking that I would need to get a dish and a dua/quad reciever for the dish? (LNB ????)

Thanks again
