I am using my-expat-network.co.uk/ and it is simple way to watch BBC programs. You can listen to radio and all sports commentaries live from abroad. You can call 0800 numbers from skype (which saves you lot of money)
It is not free, it is ?5 per month but is definitely worth it.
It was easy to subscribe (easy to unsubscribe as well) and to install, only thing I needed is a cable to connect PC to TV.
It is very simple and easy and it works.

How long will these services be around for before they get booted by authorities like all the rest (in the mean time they've swiped how much money from their subscribers?)?

These services are usually merely supplying a connection to a UK based server which then gives you a UK IP address for accessing the catchup services such as BBC Iplayer, 4OD etc. This is perfectly legal and there are no licensing issues either because if you check the BBC website you will find that you do not need one to watch catchup TV.

These services will be around for a long time to come and will be increasingly in demand as the UK Satellite channels become ever more tightly focused on the UK

Get a broadband connection, sign up with one of these services and you wont look back. Catchup TV allows you to watch what you want when you want rather than trawling through live TV. TV online is the future of TV. No cables, no Sky Boxes and Cards, no satellite dishes to align - just run a cable to your Tv or watch on your computer monitor.

My service - Speedytv runs from a server that is optimised for viewing these services. Sign up for a trial today and be watching in minutes speedytv.co.uk

Hi guys.

The site above seems to be gone.

I have been searching forums and all over the web to try and find a solution to watching the world cup and general UK tv online. All of the places i found were giving false promices or charging too much for me to even try (lost ?25 as it is!)

Anyway, i eventually found a site called  brittv. co. uk and to my delight, it simply worked! I thought i would let you know to try to save you time and money searchin endlessly like i did.

This message is not intended to offend or advertise for anyone, just to help.

Cheers.

lot off this site where hit over the weekend due to copright laws and you see more go down over the next few weeks . the only one think aloud to provide tv online is the tv company it self . that own the copyrights and will not sell it on two any one out side the area off there brodcasting area ... ie itv to uk channel islands only
this company are forum off piracy and you can be tracked ....
there hitting the VPN severs . better off with a dish ... it DTH direct-to-home and bbc itv ch4 ch5 and more are free . you internet bill dosnt go throught the roof and if some place the net so bad a dail up fastter ....

Check this site out. It's a tutotial on how to fool the BBC iPlayer, ITV Player, Channel 4OD, SkyPlayer into thinking you are in the home country (not abroad). The download speeds are the same as if you were on your broadband at home.

So has anybody taken up his offer?

If you are an ex-pat and living in Spain out of reach of a satellite signal the best way of getting the full range of UK TV channels and UK web content is by simply ordering the Virtual Global Router Box. This box offers the full VPN service but in addition you can watch several devices at the same time. For example, the children could be watching UK programmes such as 'Hannah Montana' or 'Dora the Explorer' on the Playstation whilst Mum catches up with Eastenders on the TV/PC and Dad plays a game of online poker on the laptop. The one box allows you to connect multiple devices at the same time and is so easy to set up, you simply plug in and play.

We have recently bought this router box, set it up in 10 minutes and it works perfectly.

Hi folks,

Have read the post's on here and only agree with one of them, it's not illegal to view Catchup TV and It's not illegal to use a VPN.
80% of all UK companies these day's use a VPN to keep their networks safe.

The only problem these day's Is that so many site's are ripping you of selling other providers VPNs for double the price and so many of you still think your getting a good deal.

If you want to use a provider that has unique servers that only they use and own and great prices that won't be beaten anywhere online, or access to not just the BBC or ITV but all UK websites or you have a family and need simultaneous logins using the same Login details then try us, we won't be beaten on price or choice.

Instant setup. Free 24 hour trial also available.

Been looking for a decent streaming service to watch UK TV abroad for several months & all I found was software with largely non-English channel selections, most channels not working, poor quality or glitchy when they do & very slow buffer times. Finally found a site that was perfect in every way, including all Sports channels, all movie channels & 17 radio channels, that I'm sure will interest all ex-pats.

Free 15 minute preview from here so you can decide for yourselves:

Will save you a great deal of messing about with proxys, VPN connections & the like. & that's if you're extremely lucky & happen to find a worthwhile streaming service, which are few & far between.

Plays in near-perfect quality through my 42" plasma via HDMI also. Hope it's of benefit.

They've just added iPhone & iPad streaming too, making them the first & only site on the net to do so outside the UK across these platforms. No extra charge either. Basically, this means you can watch UK TV on iPhone, iPad, TV, laptop and PC at the same time if you wish. For a tenner!

PM me if that link's taken down also & i'll direct ye to the site.

GOT TVCATCHUP WORKING!
Most VPNs are blocked with the popular TVCatchup service that lets you watch live all BBC channels, ITV Channels, Channel 4, Channel 5, Dave, Viva and loads of others. AngloVPN works fine with this in Spain and is only 5 Quid a month (or cheaper if you buy the year).
