Both are relocating to one site in one of Spain’s tallest buildings, the Torre Espacio
The British Embassy and Consulate General offices in Madrid are moving to new offices this month, in the Torre Espacio building on Paseo de la Castellana. In order to make the move, the Embassy is closed from 10th-14th July, and reopens this Wednesday, 15th July, at Torre Espacio, Paseo de la Castellana 259D.
The Consulate General makes the move next week, and is closed from 17th-21st July, to reopen in the Torre Espacio on Wednesday 22nd July.
Further information is given on the Embassy website http://www.ukinspain.fco.gov.uk”
The Torre Espacio is one of four skyscrapers built recently on the extension to the Paseo de la Castellana and the British offices take up four floors in the new block, where ABC newspaper reports Australia and Canada have also rented space. The Embassy was based for almost a century on Calle Fernando el Santo, in a building which the paper said was sold at the beginning of the year, and whose new owners plan to demolish in order to rebuild.
