I’m sorry for asking a question that is probably asked all the time here, but I need some help, and as there seems to be too many technicalities to bare, I need help on an individual basis, so please share any wisdom you might have here.

That being said, I live in Spain on the Costa del Sol, and I am employed by a UK based company where my current base earnings do not exceed ?12,000 a year. That being said, I am eligable for commissions that could change my yearly earnings significantly… still, that hasn’t happened yet, so it’s not my immediate concern. I’d imagine that being paid less than ?12,000 a year brings me under the tax bracket?

Anyway, is it possible for me to pay my taxes in England at all? I just cannot afford to go on autonomo here (obviously, since my earnings are so low). I am told that it is possible if you spend 30 days a year in the UK (which I would gladly do) and have a registered address (which I can buy?), but is there anything else I need to know?

My other concern is this: I currently do not have an NI number. I haven’t lived in England in 16 years when I was 11, I’ve been in the US instead, and paying my taxes in the US would be too complicated (though I have considered it). I do hold a valid British passport though, and would be willing to sort out any necessary documentation either here from Spain, or over in England.

Please let me know your thoughts, your help would be greatly, greatly appreciated!!!!
