Help! How to transfer money from a Spanish Bank account?

Hi all

I opened a Spanish bank account some months ago as a non-resident. I want to close the account and transfer the money to an account in my name outside Spain. The bank maintains that I can only withdraw the money in person - not easy when you don't live there - they will not accept requests by fax or mail. Power of Attorney may be an option, but this will take time and money to set up.

Has anyone been in a similar situation and found a way to transfer their funds?

money going to where , EU Zone are out side the Zone ?

No - no online banking currently setup.

The money is to be transferred to an account in Ireland - so remains in EU.
