I have a Student NIE that expires in November. I have been told the requirements to renew it are: to have private insurance and to be signed up for some sort of official course. Is this correct? Is anything else necessary?

If it is true about the insurance, what kind of insurance plan is necessary and what’s a good insurance company? thanks for any help!

Hi sam,
I’m just curious if you ever found out if those are the only requirements. I am in the same situtation and I am trying to find out how to renew my student residency without having to actually be a “student” at a university. Before this i was doing the bilingual school project throug the mec, but there is a two year limit. The extranje?a informed me that if i am a student for 3 years then the transition to obtaining a work residency is super f?cil…in other words, I need to find a way of extending it one more year. Did you have any luck?
thanks

insurance would be a medical insurance, i wonder how you got the card without the insurance.
anyway, you can contract sanitas, adeslas, and so on.
you can enrol in spanish at the escuela oficial de idiomas. be sure to have at least your secondary education or high school transcript and diploma true copied, authenticated and translated to be submitted to the ministry of education for its accreditation, so you can go on enrolling.
