When you live abroad language translation is going to be a big thing in our lives. I am constantly using an on-line service that translates from one language to another, free of charge.
For instance you might have an on-line document and you need a translation of a paragraph (there are size limitations). Simply cut and paste each paragraph into the babelfish box and choose the language you need it translating to; there you go.
You could be putting a letter together. Fine, type it in paragraph by paragraph; cut and paste again. It is very simple to use and remarkable accurate - if you use plain English: for instance cannot rather than can’t. It is a lot of fun as well as being educational. Good luck with babel fish.

Yes these services are fine, very useful and free. But if you need an official translation they will not suffice as the document needs to be professionally translated and stamped by a recognised and qualified translator.
