I live in Alhaurin el Grande, Malaga. I have used Iberbanda for 4 years and have had nothing but problems with them. During this time I have registered over 250 complaints because of no connection or a speed well below the 10% guaranteed. I have twice tried to denounce them through the system via The Ministerio de Industria but got nowhere as Iberbanda covered up all their problems.
In the last month it is impossible to use the internet after 5pm due to over saturation and outdated equipment in the area. This has been confirmed by two independent Spanish installation companies who have surveyed my installation. I recently read in the local paper of another expat user who has had the same issues and asked what he could do. Another reader replied that he might as well give up as no one cares a damn.
Yesterday I spoke with Iberbanda tecnicos and atenci?n al cliente. It is hard to believe this, but both advised me to cancel my contract with them and try and find an alternative, as the company is not prepared to spend any money in this area improving the current situation. When I reminded them that I had paid on average ?uros 50:00 pm for the last 4 years for a completely unreliable service, and expected some kind of refund, I was told that I could try and get one, but if I did, it would be a first. No way has Iberbanda come even close to honoring their contract.
I have friends in other parts off Spain who use Iberbanda and they have no problems whatsoever. Unfortunately it all depends on where you live. If the equipment is kept up to date , everything seems to run well. In my area it needs money spending on it. Most of my neighbors are in the same situation and we have all tried to get Telefonica to install land lines, but obviously as long as they can con the current users via Iberbanda they are not likely to do anything.
What a sad state of affairs!
