Well my Spanish Employer, same company that I worked for in UK stated that on average the wage for my position in Spain was 35,000 Euros a year.
It was nothing like that.
Most I took home on a good month was 1700 Euros, on average though 1200 a month.
Spanish guys I worked with had never earned that amount, not even the boss of Andalucia was earning that a year.
When I confronted my boss I was told after he stopped laughing, that was an incentive too come, although they preferred too offer it to people who they describe as hungry.
The UK apparently we arn`t hungry (desperate) enough, which is why I left.
Be careful with offers, they no your likely too stay than return home.
Fruit pickin isn`t highly paid and its long, hard work, but if your hungry (desperate), try it.
Spaniards lie, I`ll probably get told I`m talkin rubbish, but in general, Spanish lie, a lot.
They also show off, what many expats view as welcoming isn`t that, there basically tellin you my country is far better than yours and this is how you should live.
After all you as an expat have chosen there country over your own.
I`ve just been on a cruise with my Spanish In laws around the med, the majority on board where Spanish as it was booked in Spain.
We had a phone call from my mother in law yesterday, she`s recieved a parcel of Olive Oil from a couple we got friendly with onboard from Jaen.
The husband works in an Olive factory, so because my in laws live in northern Spain, they decided to send them some oil.
My mother in law is now callin them ignorant picos as “Don`t they no we have oil in the Basque country” etc etc.
Apparently there sending us some Jamon and Cheese from Jaen.
I`m happy, anything free is good in my eyes, just wish I knew before I bought a Kilo of Spanish cheese in Makro.
