Hi all, this is our first post.

We are currently living in France for most of the year and in the winter we follow the birds and head off to Spain for the winter. Last year being the first time. We are now thinking off making a full time move to Spain. To make the move we need some advice in the financial and health area.

We would like to make a comparison of costs between France and Spain.

We have an income of about ?35,000 per year, all of which is bank interest. In France we have to pay the following taxes,

Income Tax ?2,800
Social Payments ?4,250
Health Contributions ?2,100

On top of the above we pay property taxes of ?2,215.

In addition to the above we have a mutuel (top up insurance) costing ?1,500.

We are both in our late and mid fifties.

We would be looking to live in an apartment in the Altea region.

What kind of costs would we have in Spain as regards taxation and private health costs as my E121 will not be available until 2017.
