On 1 July when the supply of electricity in Spain was “commercialised” our local Endesa office closed and we were told that we would be supplied by HC Energia from then on.  Since then we have not had an electricity bill and I’m worried we are going to get hit with a massive direct debit payment or worse, get cut off for non-payment.  Has anyone else had this problem and managed to find a solution, or even an English-speaking customer service line?

Found this for you…

https://www.hcenergia.com/en/portal.do?IDM=19&NM=1

Just to let you know they cannot just Break out a big Bill on your doorstep….

The previous company had to have your permission to pass your details on “Part of The EU Data Protection Act”

Contact them above and I am sure things will sort itself out….

However… I like to think if they have not billed you since June the Idiots deserve to lose money!

Thanks Mac31.  I contacted them a few days ago but they haven’t replied ...  not the most efficient company it seems.

I would still like to hear if any other readers have had a similar problem or whether it is just our village.

Keep a record ( monthly) of your meter readings, so when the bill comes as it surely will,,, you can confirm , I had the same problem and the admin of the new company just wasnt up to it, they read the meter two weeks ago, and billed my this week ( I also took the precaution of both cancelling my DD and instructing the Bank not to pay them until I agreed),

lol. I?m having the exact same problem. I was billed by Endesa in July and the payment left my bank account. So far no bills but I did get something from the gas company I think saying electricity and gas are becoming one and I have to do nothing…...

Let me know what happens to you. I?m living in Barcelona (diagonal mar) and going on vacation in dec, I hope my lights are still on in January hehehe…
