We are not ex pats-yet! want to bring our Rottweler this winter for 3months only someone mentioned we have to have
dog insurance for public liability to the amount of 120,000 euros, does anybody know if this is correct.
Would hate to book a site for 3 months to be told to leave cause we have no dog insurance. The caravan club cannot tell us
Help!!

The dog laws in spain are different then in the Uk not to sure about the insurance but certain dogs over a certain weight have to be reg and muzzled in public. This is part of the danderous dog act, dogs must be restrained in the back of the car.
I got this info from Marbella police about 2 years ago.

Thanks for that but surely visitors do not have to register their dogs only if you are living there?

Hi; a little late I know but here is a link to a site detailing the actions required of owners of dogs classified as dangerous in Spain.

http://costablanca.angloinfo.com/countries/spain/animals.asp#dogs

It might just help someone with a similar enquiry in the future…
