Out of interest where would you consider going to if everything goes really pear-shaped on the Costas? It is beginning to look scary. In the 1970s there was the worry about the neutron bomb? This was a nuclear weapon that killed people whilst leaving the infrastructure undisturbed. Images showed deserted townships.

Here on the Costa Blanca even the N332 is quiet; motorways see only the occasional vehicle. At 10.30pm on a Friday night bars and restaurants are deserted. I have seen more shoppers in a corner shop that I often see in the larger supermarkets.

Talking to a partner in one of the region?s bigger nightspots he said he was checking out options. I have already done so: Bulgaria, Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Valparaiso or Santiago in Chile. Other friends in the entertainment business are looking at Portugal and France. Where would you consider?

Hi Mike

Well I am moving from Spain after nearly 5 years here.

My new employer gave me the opportunity to move to Canada which I Excepted I am Set for Jan 2010!

I lived around Spain (Currently in Gib) me and my friends say Spain is on its last legs before total collapse lots of companies are hanging on People have taken Pay cuts of around 50%.... there is also talk of Employees working with no Contract.

I have nothing bad to say about Spain as I believe it?s what you make of it… My Mum is Spanish so I have been back and fourth to Spain all my life just a shame that poltics are corrupt and full of false promises (This also typical around the world granted!).

Canada apparently people are looking for work apparently the Visa Process is easier and there are over 38 professions that Canada Immigration is looking for etc.

Brazil was my 2nd Choice as there is now a lot of work been tendered out for IT ETC as the new found wealth of Oil and Gas and also The Olympics

3rd… Abu Dhabi

Regards Mac

PS BLIMEY MY REPLY IS LONG WINDED SORRY!!!

Good luck and best wishes to you, Mac. I like the Brazil option as I too have had some good reports, which coincide with your own. Britain isn’t an option. This made pretty grim reading.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1231563/Is-Britain-brink-financial-armageddon.html

I am left to wonder, if Britain does go the way of Iceland and Dubai what happens to British expatriates throughout the world who are dependant upon the pound sterling; pensions, investments, family support; whatever? Millions would be looking into the abyss.

Good night and oh; happy Christmas   :o(

Well its a case of “Told You So”

If you look back and see how the Governments of The World dealt with the Crisis It was not a long term solution IE: Bail out Billions to banks and wipe out Private Investers. No one really stood out side the box to see other Situations of DUBAI ETC coming.

As I look at it theres more to come for This “CRISIS” however its more of a Panic situation than a Crisis, People are scared to Buy Sell Invest etc.

The Question is Time…. However if you look at reports now There is strong Talks about pushing the “Reset Button” were Debt is wipped out (My Opinion this will never happen!)......

Also the talk about US debt to China, The Chiniese are very concerned of the weakness of the dollar etc… However I cannot believe the reports that China lent 60% 1 half Trillion Dollars for there Economy…. (Correct me Please But its what I have Read!)

We all know every 15 to 25 years we have a Economy Melt down History shows we do not learn from the past mistakes.

AGAIN its what you make out of life you can not let this Crisis Rule you,.... People must adapt and adopt by moving to find work. instead of feeling sorry for themselves… It all works out at the end.

Anyway Mike Your posts are awesome. keep em going!

Have a awesome Christmas

Mike.
I’d just like to mention that for our ESCAPE, we are looking to move to Spain for our retirement,  we have lived in various places around the world, Canada,USA and New Zealand as an example,  I think the problem is bigger than just a UK -Spain thing as we have just seen in Greece/Dubai/Iceland…
In my opinion the WHOLE pack of cards looks very fragile..especially where banks are concerned and if you watch the movie “Zietgeist”  there may be some clarification on to why it ‘s this way.  The USA has become an odd place with all the restriction on entry and exit.
They put me on some sort of watch list 8 years ago and even though I have apologetic letters from the Chief of immigration..  the problem still exists,  so we are selling up and getting out while we still can!!
We don’t like all the European Bureaucracy but at least you can move around freely…. so far!  Portugal looks interesting but the language put us off.

Tighten your belt and hold on to your seat….it could be a bumpy ride…

The site seems to have gone very quiet????

Happy New Year   with fingers crossed..
