Here comes another generic enquiry, and apologise for that, but would appreciate any input.
My daughter and I are from BC Canada and would like to spend a year in Spain, learn the language, savour the culture and travel a bit. Ideally my daughter would join a state school for the year in a small town, unfortunately there has to be a swimming pool(swim club) as she is a competitive swimmer and requires intensive trainning. I hope that a small town would benefit my daughter the most, by integrating better, making friends, learning the language faster and experiencing the culture in a purer form.
I did a bit of research, and my understanding is that only in Castillian Region, the primary language in State Scools is Spanish(Castillian), is this the area I should concentrate on?
I also searched for a directory of all swim clubs in Spain without success.
I would appreciate any suggestions, websites etc.

I know there’s a nautical club in Barcelona with competitive swimming. I’d also look on this site: http://www.inefc.cat

Small towns probably won’t have the competitive swimming, though that depends on what we consider to be “small”.

Castellano is spoken throughout Spain, but there are some regional differences and other languages added to the mix. Check out our article here: Castellano vs. Espa?ol
