hi guys, me and my girlfriend are coming out to look at properties in and around the guardamar and torrevieja areas in march.
A few questions, has anybody had any dealings with a firm called jmt global properties? Has anybody heard about deals where the buyer takesover the mortgage from the banks on repos? if so can someone explain it to me? What are the links like from the airports to these areas, will i have to get a hire car everytime?
And what is the area like around these parts for going out eating etc.I've been to benidorm a fewtimes, and for my budget guardamar is about as close as i can get to benidorm and still be close to the sea.
Any input is very much appreciated

Suggest you only deal with fully legal companies with SL (ie Ltd)
Guardamar is a nice area with a beautiful beach and handy for Alicante airport, but you will need a hire car.
Banks are selling off their reclaimed properties - this is being used as a big sales pitch - buy cheap. But beware they can come with problems and are frequently poor properties which the lower end of the market have bought on mortgage and been re-possessed.
Don't rush into anything - it is still a buyers market.

There are some good bargains available at the moment both privately and via banks, and the rent with option to buy deals (normally after 4 years) are worth considering. I would strongly suggest that you don't rule out any areas simply because you think they are out of your price range. There are some smaller cheap properties to be had even in upmarket areas like Moraira and Javea (above Benidorm). Be sure to drive 1hr up and 1hr down the coast before you absolutely decide on an area. There are still quite a few buyers competing for the best deals and though the market has slowed and prices reduced, you will need to be in a deposit ready, serious buyer position to strike the best deal. I can recommend an e-book from www.movetospain-safely.com which will give you lots of no nonsense advice.

Hi all,
Yes there are bargains about, but the Bank Repos are not as cheap as you would imagine as the Banks have to recover their costs as well as the outstanding mortgage.
Look in Land a little and see just what you can find there, it is worth a short 10 minute drive.

Hi .All,
I have been on the internet researching properties and I have been up and down the coast of Costa Blanca. Can anyone advise me on an area that's no more than 15 mins away from the coast that has alot of Spanish charm. I don't want to buy in area that has unfinished concrete jungles, and unfinished urbanizations. I would love to buy in a Spanish village.
can anyone advise please
Monica

You need to increase the 15 min caveat to meet the others.

Hi,
My advice if you don't want a concrete jungle and would prefer a little more Spanish charm, you would need to go inland a bit more.
Try Arboleas about 25 Min's from the wonderful beaches of Mojacar and only 55 Min's from the airport (Almeria).
However if you are thinking of buying take advice first, don't have a lawyer who operates in the area that you are buying.
Avoid the nearby town of Albox,if you need anymore info just PM me.
