Hi everyone, my names Elisa and i’m just about to make the move. I move to Spain on the 12th March and am very excited but also petrified at the same time. One minute I think it’s the best decision ever, the next I want to stay in the comfort zone of where I am now ! One thing i’m confused about is the whole tax thing when working. I am self employed in England and will be self employed in Spain. My wages are going to be a lot less, but it’s the lifestyle change i’m coming to Spain for. By the way i’m 43 with a 4 year old daughter and my partner is going to be staying at home until we get our house rented out. It all sounds a bit up in the air at the moment I know, but we want to keep his wages for as long as possible until i’m better established and getting regular money. Can anybody tell me about the taxes and insurance I will be paying as i’m getting a few conflicting ideas.
