moving to spain with a canadian wife

Hi,

My girlfriend and I are planning on moving to Spain next september, we are also planning a quick wedding in the next six months or so - most likely the end of the summer.

From what I know (not much I admit...) there is no problem with me going to Spain and getting a job, house, car etc - I realise there is some bureaucracy that goes along with that but essentially just form filling/going through the motions.

What would be the situation for my girlfriend/wife? If we were not married she would need a work visa, is that correct? If we were married does my status as an EU citizen allow me to bring a non-EU citizen with me and basically have the same rights as me? I've got a feeling it's not going to be that simple.

She has been in the UK on a visit visa, does not have a UK residency or citizenship, the situation is that she may as well be coming direct from canada, just with an English boyfriend/husband.

Basically what's the best course of action that will let both of us move to Spain with minimum hassle?
