Hi,

This website is great! But I’m having trouble figuring out what info is specific to my situation.
I have a grant or sponsorship from the Catalan Gov’t for a paid flat in Barcelona for 6 months. It involves
15 hours a week of volunteer work which I love, but though I have been told there are job possibilities
within the organization I’ll be working for, I don’t know if I need a work visa or not. Since the minimum term is 6
months, I would assume it would be a good idea, but don’t know exactly what sort I should try for, and have heard
so many different versions. Do I need to aquire the visa in the US or can I sort it when I get there?

Do they really require you to have health insurance? I cannot afford it in the US, so if it is a prerequisite for obtaining
a visa I may be a bit screwed…Can’t I just swear not to get sick? 😊

Any advice would be so appreciated, as I hope to move in May!!

Thanks,

Ellen
