Hi everyone,
My name is Jamie , I am 24 , and ..

Im a bit stuck , I moved to San Sebasian 3 months ago, for a job. The job was great, and i moved all my stuff out here, not furniture just books, clothes small things, etc oh and a vintage motorbike!!

Thing is i got laid off and i now have only a few days to get my stuff back to Devon in England, thing is i am broke, as it cost me so much to get out here in the first place and i havent worked long enough to have any money. So what i am looking for is some urgent help to get my stuff back to devon as soon and as cheep as possible. I can get the bike back, i think! So what would be ideal is if someone is moving back and forth from here, maybe moving their stuff out and going back with an empty van or lorry and i could stick some boxes in .

Any advice or contacts would be really appreciated. Just info about good couriers would also be handy.

please anything,
i have to be out of my flat by the 7th may.

thank you so much

jamie

Sorry to here it, Donostia is an expensive town even with a good job, last survey I read it was in the top 5 most expensive towns in Europe.

I can’t recommend couriers or movers without you needing to pay and I would not recommned people move others possessions without knowing them very well, for obvious reasons.

You may have to store them, may be worth you contacting TKB Self Storage Donostia San Sebasti?n Address: c. Iguarte s/n Pol. Ind. Asteasuain Frente a C.C. Urbil 20170 Usurbil Spain Tel: +34 943 367 700.

Jamie, that’s a real bummer man. Can you ask your parents for help?

Maybe start a paypal account? Post a link here to request some money and maybe a few people will find some generosity in their hearts for you. I wouldn’t normally allow this on the site but I’ll let you put up a link like that for a week okay?

That’s cool of you aquagirl. First post on the forum and you’re already helping out.

Jamie: any updates on your situation?

I’d give him chance to arrive and get sorted before making a judgement.

What did your email from Paypal say?

I haven’t heard from him either…

Hola

The email said

“The funds have been returned to your account”

I emailed the address that was contained in the email to ask if he was OK and this was returned also 😊

Hello < Hola

Sorry for the length of time I have been absent from this post. It has been a busy time in the past few months, and I am sorry for not replying to those of you who were kind enough to help me out.

I have managed to get back, all in one piece. It went a little like this….

I managed to find a place to leave some of my possessions in a friends father workshop, fingers crossed it is still there!  The friend can be trusted, but i never actually met the father. So Basically i had to leave some stuff behind, as i could only get a small amount of baggage with me. It turned out the cheapest way of getting home was a mega, 10 hr train through France and then an quick trip on the Eurostar back to London. The train wasnt to bad, a single trip was about ?75, and i could take all the bags and heavy stuff i could carry, it cost so much more on a plane to take the same amount of stuff.
I then got back into London and found my way , very slowly down to a friends house in south London, Brixton actually. So many heavy bags, and way too many Londoners, it was such a struggle!!
Since arriving back, I have been dossing on a friends sofa for a few weeks, looking for a job.
I now have one working in a prop store making models for films. So now i am looking for a flat to rent with some friends and then i will be all set.

Oh , i still have so save enough money to get my stuff back to me, but now im working that wont take too long.

So fingers crossed this job holds out, the weather isnt as nice and there are not as many pretty girls, But its London and i cant complain!!

Once again, i am so sorry for leaving you all in the quiet when you really helped me out, letting me put the add up, then the donation thing, then those of you who actually parted with some cash. Your more than kind! your amazing and i really really thanks you for being so generous.

Apparently one donation got sent back, thanks for the thought, but i didnt even realize how that happened, so just count your self lucky!

I hope you are all well and enjoying Spain, or where ever you are. If your ever in Brixton , and ill make you a cuppa!!

Hola Jamie

Good to hear from you and it sounds like you had quite a journey there!

It was my donation that was returned, I am guessing it was because you did not check it and accept the payment, really pleased you let us know how you got on, good look with the job hunting and keep in touch every now and then

Simone 😊

Hola Jamie

Wow..what a journey home !

You?ll definitely have some good memories of bumming it when you look back - glad you?re back and hope you get set up with a place to live soon.  At least you?re young and a bit of hardship will make a man of you.

Good luck with everything.
