Hi there,

We (Dane and Japanese) are planning to move to Spain sometime late this summer. It’s a dream finally coming true.

We are planning to settle near Valencia and was hoping someone could tell us what the different areas in the region are like so we can kickstart our househunting. Any other areas of Spain that anyone for entirely personal preferences would like to recommend and of course, why?

Once arriving in Spain I know for that it will be easy for myself to register. But what documents will a Japanese National need? Will we need translations of all her documents like the marriage certificate etc ? And would a Japanese marriage have to be registred in Denmark (Im Danish) to be valid in Spain? I’ve put forward these questions to the embassies in Spain but have yet to hear back from them. Is Valencia requiring anything other cities dont or is it easier than others?

I want to bring my mini down from London. Is it expensive or complicated to register a British car in Spain?

Uk pets just need a couple of vacc’s and a passport from their vet right?

😊 Answers to any part of this post much appreciated!

Its near impossible to recommend areas beyond my preference.

Spanish regions can be unique and varied, I’d recommend most places are worth a visit, i’ve not been to any region that I did not enjoy, to live there are a few, mainly the costa regions of the south, the east coast is far better.

Papers I assume your OH has visa or EU passport etc, no idea what the requirements are, being entitled to live in the UK does not always cover moving to another EU country.

Good luck with the move.
