I discovered pragmatism. A representative from Portuguese operator TMN was happy to admit that the messaging guys within his organization struggle to get the attention of the board nowadays. Management wants to be reassured that messaging revenues will hold up well, but they don?t want to be bothered by requests for investment in new platforms.
In general, the messaging product managers I spoke with are pragmatic about their roles within their organizations. They?re expected to quietly get on with the job of staving off service commoditization, and they?re not expected to ask for much help in the process.
