Dear xpats,

I am from Barcelona and I have lived abroad for the last 7 years, currently and the last 3 years in Belgium.

I want to get married to a Brit, in the Barcelona area. We don’t know exactly where yet.

My questions:

1. Being both of us non-residents, what extra paperwork do we need?
I have been trying to call the Registre de Barcelona but it seems impossible to talk to any human being.

2. My understanding is that there is some paperwork you do with the Registre de Barcelona, which you then take to the town council you want to get married and fix a date. Is this correct?

Any phone numbers or references to solve the two questions above would be also very appreciated.

3. Could anybody recommend a nice place for a civil wedding?
