Hello everyone.

I am new here but not in Murcia, Spain.

Has anyone recieved a letter from CONSEJERIA ECONOMICA Y HACIENDA, questioning the price of the property you bought, say in my case, in 2007?  I got this lenghty letter informing me that we paid the price less than the market value of the property.  In fact, this was sent to the lawyer who worked in the sale.

Ok, this whole thing doesn’t make sense.
1)  We bought an apartment located in one of the older buildings in La Manga strip.
2)  Property was for sale for quite awhile.  Price was reduced.
3)  We made an offer, and seller took it.
4)  She was represented by her lawyer, while we didn’t see the use of one.
5)  Sale perfected.
6)  Almost 4 years later, the tax office revalued the property and wants to collect tax on the difference.

The issue here is they revalued it far, too far than the asking price of this apartment.  Could this be true????

Has anyone heard of this or encountered this problem????

Please advise.

Thank your so much to anyone that will shed light on this issue.
