Hello everyone.
Please give me advices on how to acquire spanish citizenship.

I am an non-EU national married in the UK to my wife who has spanish citizenship for a year now. And we’re currently in the UK. And soon will be having our first baby.
I am just curious how to get spanish citizenship cos we are here and I got questions that need to be answered and also I need advices.

*Do I have to live in Spain with my wife for me to get spanish citizenship? If so how many years? Cos we are already married for a year now.
*If we have to live in Spain, should I get a residence permit? Cos the only visa I got is a UK visa of family member of EU.
*What do I need to do for me to go to spain from here? Do I have to get schengen visa? or any visa?

Thanks in advance for the advices.

kelkel,
your wife must register your marriage with the spanish consulate in the uk.
when that is done, you will have to apply for an eu family residence visa.
when you arrive in spain you will apply for the residencia comunitaria card.
when you have lived for a year in spain, you can apply for spanish citizenship.
processing may take as long as 2 years.
