I was wondering how many people in Spain actually like housesitters taking care of their property during long periods of time. I have found a few housesitting websites that I have to pay to join to advertise myself and my Husband but there arent that many housesits in the part of Spain that we wanted so until I know for sure that it is a popular thing by hopefully hearing back from some people on here then I won’t join just yet!
Basically, to give you an idea, my Husband and I want to move to Spain but we figured that by housesitting we could live in different areas of Spain to see where we like before we commit to a longer term let, it would be a good way to travel around too having only stayed in a few places on holiday so far. We would be happy going anywhere in Costa Del Sol, Costa Tropical, Costa Blanca, Alicante or Andalucia.
We do not have any committments here, we really want to leave the UK for the darker months (I get depressed in the winter) so this is something we are eager to do ASAP. My Husband has his own software business but he works solely from his laptop and so would only need to live in a place with good internet access, this also means that we have a constant income to buy food etc.
I am a very house proud person, a great housekeeper, obsessed with cleanliness and so would be perfect to look after a house! We have looked after a friends house on a couple of occasions with dogs and chickens and would consider dogs and smaller animals (but not cats as i am allergic!). We would also be fine with upkeep of gardens and pools.
Now that you see our background would anyone be likely to be interested in us housesitting for you?

No, we would not charge anything!

I think it is hard to get that sort of thing. Are you going to charge? Maybe it will be easier to get a cheap rental if you can afford it!!
